If you have a question, and need a reply before then, I may not. I'm on vacation from the East Coast and haven't had the time to properly take my own pics of the instrument.Hey! Thanks for the interest in my pickup. The picture I'm sharing is the one used by Thunder Road Guitars in PDX.
The guitar sounds great, and looks like it's been well taken care of, despite its age of 52 years or so. It's only been one day, but I must say I'm feeling quite happy with the purchase overall.
This isn't a bad thing at all! It just makes the guitar unusually easy to play. More so, the neck is quite unlike any other Fender neck I've played, or any Gibson for that matter! While my CS-336 definitely has a the '60s Slim Taper of that era's Gibson originals, the Musicmaster's neck is quite a bit thinner in its overall nut width and shape. Not at all thin sounding like I had presumed. Wowzers, does the guitar sound good for only having one pickup! Sure, the pickup is definitely not as hot as the pickups in the R7 and Strat, but still, the tone is sweet in the highs and slightly mid-scooped. All guitars were played through a Fender EC Vibro Champ, with some pedals out front as well. I purchased the guitar this morning and have had lots of fun putting it through its paces and comparing it to my R7 and my Monterey Pop Strat w/ Fralin Vintage Hots. BTW - I love it when I have a good experience buying vintage gear, which isn't always the case as some of you might know!
#1966 FENDER MUSICMASTER II PROFESSIONAL#
First of all, the store is filled with lots of cool vintage gear, and the person who runs the store, Will, is quite professional and seemingly knowledgeable when it comes to vintage gear. As the title goes, I'm quite happy to state that I had a new gear day experience today with Thunder Road Guitars in Portland, Oregon.
